History of ITI Sarkhej, Ahmedabad

Industrial Training Institute, Sarkhej, Ahmedabad under the Directorate of Employment Training, Gandhingar was initially set-up in the year of 1979 with intake capacity of 80 seats. The Institute has covered 1,514.40 sq.mt. Including Administrative Block, Workshop and Hostel building.

The Institute is engaged in imparting training under scheme of NCVT, GCVT as wall as short term pattern 28 courses with the capacity of 1740 trainees. The institute is functioning in three shifts commencing from 7.20 A.M. to 9.00 P.M. The institute is not only engaged in training activates but also performing successful activities such as Blood Donation Camp, Apprenticeship fair, Motivation campaign, Entrepreneurship campaign, Campus Interviews, Training to the Service providers as wall as Sports Activates.

  

In accordance with the policy of promoting Public-Private-Partnership, Institute Management Committees (IMC) was constituted in ITI in the year of 2005. The Chairman of the IMC is from private industry and another four members are from private industries - who are taking keen interest in the training of the students. Significant autonomy has been given to the Institute Management Committees including their role in selection of trainees, purchase of tools-equipments, machinery, furniture, raw material, enhancing technical skills of teaching staff, arranging workshops, seminars and exhibitions and revamping the syllabus. As a result the members of the IMC as well as the local industries are playing a significant role in running the ITI.

With a view to provide technically qualified man-power required for different industries and to be helpful to provide employment, this Institute is carrying over different Informal sector Short term courses. More over Institute given Spoken English training to all trade trainees for improve their communication skill in English.

Institute has been awarded An ISO 9001 : 2000 certification in the year of 2006, which shows our assurance and commitment for quality services. Ahmedabad is rapidly developing industrial city of the state of Gujarat. Different types of industries have been setup in the various industrial zones viz. Naroda, Vatva and Changodar etc.

With a view to meet the huge demand of technically qualified persons, Industrial Training Institute, Sarkhej has been setup near by the Ahmedabad city. The institute has its own modern building surrounded by the natural environment with facilities of workshop, administrative wing, store, library and hostel building.

Now Government of Gujarat is moving toward the e-governance, Gujarat Government decides that Certificate Course in Computer (CCC) is compulsory for Employee of Government / Public Sector. We are imparting training of C.C.C. in regular manner. As per resolution passed by Government of Gujarat Dated 24/6/2005 the Course run by this institute like COPA (Computer Operator cum Programming Assistant ), Web-Design, Multi-Media & Short Term course D.E.O is equivalent to Department of Electronics Accreditation Computer Course ( DOEACC ) 'O' Level Course.
